How to prepare and submit multimedia content

Multimedia content can be published as an "appendix" to the print content of your manuscript submitted to Special Issue of "New Directions in Music Information Processing (Special Issue Marking the 20th Anniversary of IPSJ SIGMUS)". Once accepted, the multimedia content will be available on video-sharing websites "YouTube" and "Nico Nico Douga". Thus, in preparing your multimedia content, care must be taken that it will be available for public search. A hyper-link to the multimedia content will be inserted in the final version of your manuscript. Please note that there will be no need to transfer the copyright of your multimedia content to IPSJ.

As will be explained below, authors are requested to upload the multimedia content by themselves to YouTube and Nico Nico Douga after the manuscript is accepted for publication.

Instructions for the preparation of multimedia material

Submit a manuscript here and obtain a paper receipt number.
Access the multimedia content uploader, fill in the entire form, choose your multimedia material, and click "submit". Please be sure that you enter the paper receipt number. The multimedia material along with your manuscript will be taken into consideration during the review process. Recommended file formats are described below.
Once the paper is accepted, authors will be asked to upload their multimedia materials by themselves to YouTube and Nico Nico Douga. Detailed information will be sent to each author by email. Once the multimedia materials are uploaded, the authors are asked to inform us the URL of the uploaded material.

File format of video clip

When submitting a video clip through the above uploader system, its file format is recommended to be an allowable file format for Nico Nico Douga (typically, H.264 format for video and AAC format for audio). Detailed information about the allowable file formats for Nico Nico Douga can be found here (Japanese only).
We also accept submissions in the .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .mp3, and .wav formats. However, when the paper is accepted, authors are asked to convert it to an uploadable format for YouTube and Nico Nico Douga by themselves.
You can select a resolution and a bitrate of your video clip as you like. However, the size of the file must be no larger than 100MB.
Although we do not limit the length of a video clip, reviewers are only asked to see the first 3 minutes of a video clip.
